DIY Jewelry Organizer

My mom’s jewelry box is kind of old and jam packed with stuff. So, she decided she wanted something on which she could hang her necklaces and bracelets that would get some stuff off of her dresser.

While she was in Nashville, we went to World Market and she found a couple of these decorative wooden wall squares for $15 a piece. She thought they would be perfect for her jewelry if we added some little hooks. I’m giving her all of the credit here. This was completely her idea. I love the color of the wood and the visual texture of them. They are perfect for her room.

(I just got on World Market’s website to link to these, but I can’t find them. I’m not sure if they still have them or not!)

We bought some hooks at Home Depot. They came in a pack of 100 for about $5. We didn’t need near that many, but she wanted to do 2, so that was perfect.

First we tried just screwing them directly into the wood. It was much more difficult than we thought it would be.

So, then we decided to get out the drill and drill pilot holes for the hooks.

The hooks went in much easier after that. We tightened them with some pliers to make sure they didn’t move around once the jewelry was on them.

Here is the completed project. These are actually my necklaces since we were at my house.

Some of the necklaces and things will overlap, but thats okay, it is still much more organized and attractive.

Tada! Easy and quick project that makes a huge statement!
